I guess I'll be using gloves but then again I use gloves for squeezing citrus anyway. OUCH!

I bought DR type disposable gloves (make sure they are powder free) and they are great. They really have saved my manicure many times!

I take off my nail polsih way before and whatever happens, happens.
I don't lotion my hands around the pesach stuff either.

hob = stove top
pan supports = grates
while we're at it:
pyrolitic = true self-clean (not common in England, ovens usually have catalytic liners that can't be kashered)

Good that you mentioned the hood, it has to be covered with very heavy foil, or two -three layers of aluminum foil, because the steam rising from the pots makes contact with it, and leaves a film of actual chometz substance. Then the steam rising from the Pesachdike pots makes contact with it, and even if it's clean, without being covered, it's a huge shailoh. |
so I'm finally on cleaning the hood but what do I do about the filter? do I take it off or leave it there?
and B"H no cuts on my hands that I noticed. which is good becaue I forgot about using gloves when cutting the foil!

The rabbi at our shiur said that the filter should be changed eventually, but not nec. for Pesach.

I take off the filter, it just pulls out from my hood easily. Put it back right after Pesach.

I keep forgetting how hard it can be to make Pesach at home each year. Maybe I'll find some long lost frum family to adopt us for Pesach one year?
Thick gloves are totally a must for me.
For the 1'st time in tihs house, I booked a cleaning lady to come this Friday.
