2003 Brandeis Publishing book - lots of black and white pictures but I don't know many of the bands.

Dh and I have this rather odd Gene Simmons fascination.
He may not be remotely frum, but his real name is Chaim and he's definitely a Jewish rock star. They had a segment on his TV show Family Jewels where he takes the family with him to New York for a visit with his mom - a lovely Holocaust survivor who serves them matzo ball soup.
He says his mother taught him that "every day above the ground is a good day". One thing that actually sets him apart from many other rock stars is the lack of self-destruction - he doesn't have a death wish. For that reason, he avoids drugs and alcohol, which definitely sets him apart in that world. [Obviously, there are other excesses, but I'm trying to say something positive here.]

yes but his ex lisa bonet is IIRC because her mom is. Oh and he's an actor not a singer but harrison Ford of all people is a yid. He seemed so non jewish to me but go figure his mother was Jewish.
