place pieces of chicken, with skin
on, on top of the rice. add water to
the pan to cover the rice. put
what ever spices you want to

I make a similar recipe! This is how I do it:
I place 1 cup of rice layer chicken that has been sprinkled with spices of your choice. Place chunks of sweet poatoes on top.
Then in a small bowl I mix a pkg of onion soup mix, 4oz of apricot jam a 2 1/4 cups of chicken soup. Pour this over all. bake at 350 for about an hour and 15 mins. COVERED! When ready to serve place the sweet potatoes in one bowl, chicken on a platter and then the rice in another bowl. Est voila!

I also make a variation of this. I put spices on the chicken and than broil it for 10 mins on each side. Than I add the rice in, water, and consumme. I cook it covered for 45 mins or until the rice is done:)
So yummy!

I once received this meal after I gave birth and I loved it. Since then, I have tried numerous times to repeat this dish and my rice never gets fully cooked. I just want to know what measurement of rice to what measurement of water........please.
