I know, we can't have a exquisite cholent on Shabbos during pesach, but, I don't wan't to have "CHOLENT SOUP".....

I have, chicken, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, eggs, and marrow bones.
Please, any ideas???? How to prepare, how to keep it hot till tomorrow, etc....
My oven is closed, only top of stove available.
I use only basics, no gebrochts, no garlic....

I wouldn't put eggs in the chulent!

Put in lots of fried onion.
You can also put in zucchini and carrot.

how to keep it hot? uh, what do you do every Shabbos? crock pot? try a blech! Smile

I have heardof people who make a kugel and then MIX it into the cholent ingredients to thicken it up, and then cook it with the rest of the ingredients (meat, potatoes, spices, onion). BTW why do u use onion but not garlic?

I put it up Thursday and leave it on the crock-pot till I go to sleep then I pt it in the fridge. Friday morning, I put it back on the crock pot and leave it until the meal. The potatoes get a little ‘well done’ and like taffy. Mmmmmmmmmmm

definitely a ton of onions, and you can make mock ‘kishka’ and that thickens it up too.

Don't forget carrots or a piece of leftover kugel! And tomatoes, some chicken soup, fresly ground pepper, or homemade tomato sauce, for flavor.

It's actaully a falacy that min Lub is not to eat garlic.

10 potatoes grated
4 onions grated
3 cups matza farfal (can be left out for non-gebrokts)
salt pepper garlic powder
2 eggs
2 squirts ketchup
3 tbsp onion soup mix
meat!
mix all together and cook on low till shabbos lunch!
(IF YOU PUT IN MATZA FARFAL< MUST COVER INGREDIENTS WITH WATER- if didn't add matza farfal, just add water halfway))

(the grated potatoes is what gives it substance so its not soupy.)

We used to try to eat out, but this year it was just chicken and potato, not too close to the flame on the blech, and it was pretty good!

I used the recipe from the Spice & Spirit - fry onions, add the meat & sautee until brown. Put that & potatoes - I added sweet potatoes & carrots too & water & put it in a crock pot. It was sooooo good. DH found a couple of hard boiled eggs & added them in.
