Thank you so much for posting this, Rutabaga! I always feel so "out of it" on Tisha B'Av, ever since I stay home at night. In some ways it's a weirder feeling than on Yom Kippur. I was going online to at least read about Tisha B'Av. I don't know what made me check imamother first, but I'm so glad I did. I finally got to hear Eicha again after all these years. It feels more somber now, like Tisha B'Av should, instead of just an ordinary evening. Thanks for thinking of all of your fellow imamothers who can't go to shul and taking the time to post the link.

I know what you mean.

Until I had children I always went to shul for Megillas Eicha, which started Tisha B'av off on the right note. In recent years my focus has been more on just getting through the fast while dealing with everyone else's needs.

The last couple of years I was able to find audio recordings online from a cantorial site. At least that was a step in the right direction, but it didn't have much feeling because it was really just a tutorial. But it was better than nothing.

I was thankful to find this video when I did a Google search for Eicha tonight. It definitely was read with true emotion. I wanted to share my find with anyone else who was homebound. I'm glad I was able to be of service.

I wish everyone an easy and meaningful fast this year and let's hope it's the last time we have a reason to mourn on this date.

Thanks for bumping. My kids were needy tonight and I couldn't get out. I came online to look for something like this and decided to check imamother first just in case. Bingo! Now if only there were one with close caption...believe it or not I don't know where my actual book is :-(

I borrowed dh's computer and was able to follow along with chabad.com's text in one tab and the reading in another. But if I'd had the phone number before I did that, out would have been another great option!

The marvels of technology. It has its faults but I love it.
