I hear that BYBP started a class using the Montessori program last year.

Is anyone familiar with it or participating in it? I'd love to hear some details about how it's different than their regular classes.

Are you familiar at all with the Montessori method?

Yes. Smile

But I'm curious how much of it they're implementing and exactly how. For example, the Montessori method has mixed age classes from 3-6, does BYBP do that too? Etc.

It's a mixed class from ages 3-5.
They're implementing it in the elementary school next year as well.
They will be having a 1st grade with the 6 year olds from the current class as well as an additional 5 students joining.
The following year the next 6 year olds will join, it will be a 1-3 grade class.

Thanks! So how exactly does that work? If a 6 year old wants to do some of the activities of an 8 year old can she? And vice versa? How much independence are the students allowed, to choose type of activity and length of time they spend doing it? And how many students are in the class, as compared to a regular class?
