Oy again. It's already June and this is going to need some creative electrician.
Magenta, how do you know all this?! I always wanted to be one of those people who knows all the things. Oh well.

The biggest issue with that is that it never comes with enough little pieces for an air conditioner that doesn't auto-off/powersave/whatever, and the little pieces tend to break or get lost. Anyone know if they make refill packs of like 50 little pieces?
There is no way to add an outlet closer to the a/c. Even if we were planning to live here long enough to make it worth it... |
I always buy extra trippers. I can get a pack of 10 or so at the local hardware store for cheaper but when I'm in a bind I just order whatever amazon has available.

Great. Now we have a real problem. It is literally the only window in the apartment and it is just a couple of feet too far from the outlet. |
you are not extending the wire in the wall ... you are putting in a new romex cable [positive neutral & ground all wrapped into one protected wire] connected to the main circuit breaker to it's own dedicated outlet ... this is the only safe way

A good public education in science and a family that did their own repairs. Now aday there is YouTube, but you will still need to know the basics of electricity.
