as every year the coney island has the gamut of FUN activities on July 4th
you can start off your day watching the 100th Nathan's hot dog eating contest at 10:00 am on Stillwell & Surf [right off the trains] 11:00 women compete - 12:00 Matt Stonie vs Joey Chestnut - 12:40 men compete
visit the aquarium on West 8th
ride the carousel that was restored in Ohio & replaced on the boardwalk
or just go swimming
the boardwalk has a new amphitheater on W. 21st Street ~ the beach boys will be singing 7:00 pm [you can buy tickets or just listen from the area]
then fireworks at 9:30 ~ yay !!!

Some of us will be playing guitar and singing Russian and English songs on the beach nearer to Coney Island Avenue. In the afternoon/evening. Come say hello!

I'm not sure if I can handle an all day events marathon ... but I will definitely be watching the fireworks from the sand at the higher street numbers

on the boardwalk or the sand ?
maybe if you're in that hood we can meet on a less busy day - at the halfway point
