k, dont know if this is exactly what u want, but I'll try...

***********************************

there was a chasid whose son was really really sick and the doctors said that he had 1 or 2 more days left. the chasid was completely desperate and went to shul crying and just cried for hours and hours... until a group of chasidim saw him and asked him what was going on, and he told them about his son.
one of them asked: "why dont you go to the tzemach tzedek?! go ask for a brochah and of course your son will get better!"
but the father answered: "it's too late! if I decide to travel to the tzemach tzedek now, it will take more than 3 (or 5, I don't remember) days and until then, my son will no longer be alive..."
but one chosid got up and said: "it's never too late!! come on, I'll travel with you!"

they finally arrived where the tzemach tzedek was and the chasid went to yechidus right away. when he entered the tzemach tzedek's room, the fact that his son is most probably dead now hit him and he started crying and crying... the tzemach tzedek asked him what happened, and he told him. the tzemach tzedek said: "tracht gut vet zain gut - think positive and it will be positive". it's never too late.
he went back home in a different "mood" and here there was - his son, getting better and better each day...

***********************************

basically this is a story that shows how one's bitachon makes Hashem give one brochos.. but it kinda shows how it's never too late... don't know!
tell me if it helps!!
good luck!

One of the Asara Harugei Malchus - R' Chananya Ben Tradyon was being burnt at the stake wraped in a sefer Torah with wet wool sponges on his heart to prolong his agonizing death. As he was dying, R' CBT said "the parchment is consumed but the letters fly up in the air." The executioner was so moved by his Kiddush Hashem that he asked him, "if I remove the sponges will I have a share in Olam Haba?" R' CBT said "yes" and the execitioner removed the sponges and jumped into the fire with CBT and dies. A heavenly voice called out "R' Chananya and the executioner are about to enter the World to Come."

This story shows that even for the worst Reshaim it's never too late to do Teshuva.

Quote:
The Talmud (Avoda Zara 17) tells the story of Elazar ben Durdaya, a man who transgressed virtually every sin in the book and was familiar with every harlot who lived in his time. One day, a harlot said to him, "Elazar ben Durdaya could never repent."

The recognition of how far he had gone shook him to the very core of his soul; He asked the mountains, heaven and earth, sun, moon, stars, to daven for him, but they refused.

"He placed his head between his knees, and wailed and sobbed until his soul departed from his body." A bas-kol (Heavenly voice) announced that Rabbi Elazar ben Durdaya was ready to enter Olam Haba. Upon hearing the story of this man, Rabbi Yehudah Ha'Nassi wept and said: "There are those who acquire their world through many years of toil, and there are those who acquire their world in a single moment."
