My baby is always constipated. His diet consists of fruits, veggies, cheerios and rice cakes. The rice cakes are made from whole grain (brown) rice. Shouldn't that have fiber in it? Should I stop with the rice cakes? What else can I give him to have the opposite effect?

I dont know what fruits you are giving but bananas and both constipate. oranges have the opposite effect. (give just the juice if you are worried about choking) I dont think the rice cakes are the problem but I may be wrong.

considering that bananas and rice are two components of the classic anti-diarrhea diet (apples and toast being the other 2), that may well be the issue. But everyone's different--bananas gave my kiddies the runs.
