I guess you are right, but until I figure out what she is allergic to I'm not interested in introducing new foods right now.

hm as for showers I do believe in these modern days of water in the house it is not as stringent ... although the streets of ny do seem a little smellier during the nine days ...

as far as food I always wonder about meat and chicken ... and how fish has become so expensive that it should also be not allowed ...

the cholov yisroel cheese is also pretty expensive; making lasagne cost as much as a steak these days!
