I made am yummy unstuffed cabbage soup this week but mistakenly bought the huge bag of shredded cabbage whichI used only a little less than half of. What recipes (preferably freezable ) do you have for me to use the rest up ?

Sauté 12-16 ounces shredded cabbage in extra large pan on very low flame for an hour (3-5 tablespoons oik). Keep covered (cabbage is quite pungent).
Season with 2-4 tablespoons sugar, 1-2 teaspoons salt, and pepper to taste and toss with a 12 oz package of cooked and drained bow tie noodles.

As soon as I saw your title I thought "unstuffed cabbage" Smile

This isn't freezable, but it's a really delicious salad.
Crunchy cole slaw
Dressing:
½ cup of vinegar
½ cup of oil
½ cup of sugar

1 bag shredded cabbage
1 bunch chopped scallions
Handful of slivered almonds
Handful of sunflower seeds
Chow Mein Noodles

Combine cabbage and scallions, nuts, seeds, and noodles. Mix dressing and pour over cabbage before serving.

I second cabbage noodles, and the great part is you can suttee the cabbage with onions, salt and pepper and then freeze it as is. then when your ready to use just cook those bow ties melt the cabbage and combine, delicious.

Not freezable, but you can make some yummy salads.

Deli style coleslaw:

For 1 bag cabbage (1 lb)

1/2 cup mayo (I use light mayo)
3 Tblsp sugar
3 Tblsp vinegar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp white pepper

Mix the dressing in advance and add it to the cabbage a few hours before serving.

Crunchy cabbage salad:

Shredded green cabbage
2 large apples, diced (works well with Granny Smith)
2/3 cup mayo
1/3 cup honey

Mix mayo and honey together and add the cabbage and apples.

Asian coleslaw:

Green cabbage, shredded
Red cabbage, shredded
Scallions, chopped finely
Sesame seeds (optional)

Dressing:
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup oil
1 Tblsp sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp dried ginger
Salt and pepper

Mix the dressing in advance and add it to the other ingredients a couple of hours before serving.
