chicken salad, tuna noodle salad, baked shnitzel, broiled chicken, salmon, ziti, meat and rice.... all these dinners take me less then 20 minutes to prepare.

*Fish, salmon or whatever. (dh only eats salmon) you can grill it even from frozen pretty quickly.
*You can microwave sweet potatoes (reg ones ones too) for a quick side dish.
(I have never seen noodles that take 20 minutes. mine all cook in 12 minutes from boiling, and if I am in a rush I boil the water in the kettle first.)
*bulgar wheat (you make tabouli from it) is really quick - just throw boiling water over it and it is cooked in a few minutes. You can have it with tomato sauce or make it into a salad.

anything broiled.
grilled chicken wraps
make pasta ahead of time I make a big batch then I have for lunch and supper.
when browning meat or making a stir fry make double then take it out of the freezer.

Am I the only one that feels that most basic dinner foods take around a half-hour to make? What are people making that takes so long? A brisket? Turkey?
Even if chicken takes an hour to cook, the prep time is minimal, so you can pop it in the oven right when you get home and it'll be ready fairly quickly.
