I would like to send "Mishloach manos" to kids in Israel. Putting it in quotes because obviously it won't be halachically MM, but I want to do it anyway. Looking for ideas for things that will go through mail safely and stay fresh. Bonus points if you can think of something homemade that will keep.

Homemade sounds iffy but pretty much anything packaged should do, if packed well.

Homemade chocolate lollypops or properly packaged truffles may work.

Unless there is a specific homemade treat you want to send your children, you might be better off sending m"m through a service in Israel.

These might be too pricy, but there must be other places that do something similar for less.

Send them some nosh they like that they can't easily get in Israel.

My father-in-law sent us a package one year with dried blueberries and other treats we wouldn't otherwise have. The postage cost about three times as much as the actual food, but it was a special memory for the children.

The mail system is not that great here, spend the money on a local delivery service.

I can't explain it exactly but it feels like they need it to come from.my hands. At same time, essie, I do know about the mail system. The year DD2 was in sem she received the mm I sent her during pesach. Luckily I hadn't sent any chometz gamur, just some lollipops, tea and a funny hat. I don't recall how early I sent it though.
