anyone know if it's possible to "rent" a private pool in the poconos without paying for a night in a hotel that has one...?!

Usually not. Private pools are part of the rooms, soooo unless they let you rent by the half day... I wouldn't count on it.

You might want to try Inn of the Dove. They have several locations, including one in Cherry Hill, NJ.
You can rent a suite with a room for a day (only).
On their website:
Plan a special day Monday through Thursday for rest and romance. Arrive after 8 AM and depart by 5 PM that day or arrive after 8 AM and depart at 12 noon. Please contact us directly for availability and pricing. Call or email for more information.

thanks - I called and they don't have day rates on the private pool suites any other ideas?!

Sorry. I'm afraid that the only places that I know of in the NYC area are the Caesar's Poconos resorts and Inn of the Dove.

Just out of curiosity, is swinging a one-night getaway totally out of the question? IOW, does it *have* to be mid-day?
