I need help with how to deal with my landlord.
I live in a complex, we're all renters. A glass in my fridge broke we asked to get it fixed and asked and asked. (I don't feel it's our fault as it happened to other neighbors too. Junky fridge)
This was months ago
Now we had another issue.. it's not working probably.. it was coming apart, and not keeping food at the right temp.
So I texted again abt both issues. (He didn't answer my call)
He asked for a pic, I sent, no response.
So I pushed, and I was told there getting a repair man.
I pushed and texted again a few days later because Food getting ruined etc.
No warning, Repairman called he's on the way
He fixed the cooling problem officially.

Now what do I do about the glass?
Wait another year (jk) ?
Wait a few days?
Say thank u abt fixing the other issue without mentioning the glass issue?
Say thank you AND mention the glass issue?

Agreed.
If the text message method isn't working maybe a phone call and/or email would be more effective

A refrigerator shelf should cost you under $20. Why not order it online and deduct that amount from next month's rent? Send the invoice from the refrigerator company with your rent check.

Thanks so much!

Actually, we've been doing the phone method for months. So I out my put my foot down and decided I needed a record of these interactions Smile

How about:

Thank you for sending the repairman.
When can I expect a replacement glass?

(I'm really bad at these things)

DH thinks I shouldn't push it.. but dh is the one who's been dealing with him till now, not wanting to pressure him, and nothings come of it. (He says he'll look into it, maybe he has, but I still don't have a glass)

I agree!
He claims he went to the local glass stores to look for a plexi replacement. shock

Can u give me more info to find a replacement fridge shelf? (I'm going to Google.. but just in case I don't find it)

Eta: I googled. It does look under $20.
I'm going to find one for my specfic fridge model.

Let's see if DH will want to deduct it from the rent.

Right before Pesach, my cleaning lady dropped my glass refrigerator shelf. I remember thinking "Oh no, there goes another $100 that I can't afford this Erev Pesach." Then I googled my refrigerator model and two days and about $15 (including shipping) later I had a brand new refrigerator shelf.
