I'm craving a hearty Asian chicken soup, the kind they serve in Estihana.
Thing is, I'm really low on ingredients.
Plus, I'm winging it in a bit of a crazy way since I couldn't find a recipe and am asking for help before I totally ruin dinner.
Here's what I did so far:
Defrosted a frozen chicken soup.
Boiled it with a piece of ginger.
Sliced a package of chicken into strips and marinated for a few minutes in soy sauce.
Added chicken to to soup.
Planning on cooking some noodles directly into the soup.
Any other additions? Suggestions? Corrections? Facepalmations?
Thanks in advance! But not too much in advance hopefully- I've got a half-done soup ok my stove!

You can julienne some squash and carrot into it.

I don't know what esti hana's soup is like but roasted sesame oil and scallions. Mushrooms and snow peas if you have.

I would add a little scallion and once it's boiling I would slowly stir in an egg.

I actually had some squash and carrot in my frozen soup! Although julienned fresh would have probably been crispier 🤔
Thanks for making me feel like it's somewhat on the right track!
Question- splash of sesame oil or rice vinegar? A tiny bit? Bad idea?
The ginger smelled super sweet so I remove do it from my pot, still left a strong smell.

Thanks, I didn't see your post when I posted above! So I'll add a drop of the oil, great. Would you slip in mushrooms from the can?
Wish I had scallions.

Oh, love this idea with the egg. Once made an egg drop soup like that. I just forget- is it the full egg or just the white?

Oh, yes I did. I don't think I've ever seen the word elsewhere but I'm pretty sure it's real

Add a tablespoon of rice wine vinegar or sushi vinegar. Taste and add a bit more to get that umami flavor.

Yes, exactly, egg drop soup. That's also how you make hot and sour soup. It's with the full egg. Stir in slowly, only going in one direction, and eat right away! B'teyavon.

Not sure what the Estihana soup is like but I add coconut milk and lemon grass for a thai flavor. Delicious.

Thanks! Those who suggested egg, should I add egg even if I added egg noodles?
This is one butchered Asian Chicken Soup recipe but hopefully it'll taste good 😂

I added a drop of rice vinegar and now I've doubled back at your post and see you meant rice WINE vinegar😅😅😅 hope it's somewhat similar!
