My 8 yr old, 3rd grade daughter has such a strong fear of tests that she leaves it all empty. She is smart and capable, just has anxiety. I keep on telling her to do her best, and doesn't need to answer everything correctly. Nothing seems to help anyone have any ideas?

I was a good student but also feared exams until a teacher said to look at as a chance to show how much I knew.
Does her teacher have any ideas? Maybe don’t mark her tests for a while, but just comment “great job” or “excellent answer!” Or something like that?

I had a friend in school with severe test anxiety, and she was the one of the smartest kids in the grade! Her parents took her to a professional who did hypnosis with her for her test anxiety. Her grades jumped by like 60 points after just one meeting. Maybe look into this. In general though, a child psychologist may be able to help your daughter learn techniques to manage her anxiety and perform better on tests.
