Has anyone tried this? Was it good? Did you substitute onion powder for onions? We well b'e"h be having a lot of children at our Purim seuda, & I don't think they'll eat the knishes with onions-TIA!

Use a bit of fresh crushed garlic to taste as you're mashing the potatoes.

I've made doughless knishes plenty of times. Sautéed onions in knishes is almost invisible. My pickiest eater that only likes "lukshen and potatoes" loves the doughless potato knishes. Specifically the doughless cuz she doesn't like flaky dough.
