My child is an early reader and is reading above his age level. I'm looking for good high level picture books, as he loves to read often, but doesn't have the patience for long chapter books. He finished most of the advanced Dr. Seuss and Magic School Bus books. Any suggestions on high level picture books that would be appropriate for a four year old?

I find that the Jewish books are often written on a higher level. For the typical child it's not great, but sounds like they might be good for your child.

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs
anything by Patricia Palacco
Eve Bunting has some picture books with high level themes. Maybe read with him, as some themes might be too mature if he is 4. One of her great books is about homelessness..
Virginia Lee Burton (The Little House, Mike Mulligan and his steam Shovel...)
Eloise by Kay Thomson - really cute and funny
Jean Fritz and David Adler have some great nonfiction and biographies picture books
