PM me if you don't want to out yourself as knowing this stuff.
I'm trying to remember a song from the 50s/60s about school. I think James Taylor covered it. And I'm wondering if CSNY did too, or if they had another song.
There is a reason I need this info, it will help someone else.
TIA!

Maybe something about hitting the books, a few different subjects mentioned...I know I'll know it when I see it. (Imasinger, that's not it.)

The CSN song is probably Teach Your Children, but I don't think that's what you mean.

What else do you remember? Was it nostalgic in tone?

Wikipedia says James Taylor and Art Garfunkel covered what I call "Don't know much about history," though apparently it's called "Wonderful World."

Yes and no. I was thinking of that song (what a mumcha, you knew to drop the Y) but that's not the song I was thinking of. I tried googling James Taylor records but my filter won't let me open and I can't do an override in time.
Oh, and there's also Chuck Berry's School Days which might work, but I still think there's another song I'm trying to retrieve.

I think that's it! Thanks!
Even though it's not on the JT playlist - and thanks, 6ofW!
ETA: Even though I can't google the lyrics I'm remembering them now. "But I do know one and one is two, and if I could only be with you what a wonderful world it would be." Not gonna work ;-)
ETA #2: Now that I have a title to google at least, I quickly came up with Sam Cooke. That's an appropriately less mellow version and the one I was groping for but still, the lyrics might be a problem.

Don't know if this will help but I vaguely remember making the rounds on Purim in high school and one of the teachers was singing a Jewish version of the song... I have no idea if he made it up or if it was officially done on an album somewhere...
