Does anyone have a good recipe for yapchik made in a croc pot?
(Would love a recipe on the smaller side if anyone has, but can try to estimate a decrease, this isn't as sensitive as is with baking chemistry)
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

My mother used to make it on the stove over a blech but I'm not sure she wrote it down.
ETA: She layered and baked, then put it on the blech. You have to be careful so it doesn't burn. She has a piece from the hardware store that's supposed to turn stovetop into oven mode. It may be called a converter? It's like the bottom of a potato baker.

What kind of meats would work best? Can I use chopped meat?

I wouldn't use ground meat. But you don't have to use a lot of meat.

Thanks! One more question- the original recipe said grated onions and potatoes. Should just the onions be grated or the potatoes as well?

Both. Keep the layers separate.

Use about 1 potato per adult you'll be serving. It needs lots of salt on top.

About 1 tsp salt and 1/2 a small onion for each big loose Idaho /Russet potato. But for onions use as many as you like in your potato kugel. Also if you're making a big yapsuk use less salt and onion per potato, as when you multiply recipes you don't multiply all the seasonings too or it will be too potent.
