I'm in the process of moving into an apartment that has a kosher kitchen
2 ovens, 2 sinks, etc. and 2 garbage pull out drawers.
I don't think I need two garbage areas.
Can I use it for other storage and what's the best use for this.
The cabinet pulls out and has a rack on the bottom to hold the garbage cans.
There's also an inside drawer, I guess to put garbage bags, and other cleaning things.

Is it practical to put large baking pans.

I want to find a home for everything that is most convenient.

I also have the option of changing the door to a regular swing out door, but I'll lose the drawer, because it's made in a way that the drawer is where the hinges of the door should be.
This is what DH says.

I live right near the area of the garbage shoot, so it's very easy for me to take it out when I need to.
Has anyone used this pull out for storage?
What's the most convenient storage use for this?
It's 18" wide I think.

Have your handyman unscrew the rack and install hinges on the cabinet door so you can use it as a regular cabinet.
Keep the pull out rack until you've lived there 2 months. You might just decide you want to two garbage cans after all. The pull outs are smaller than standard garage can.

Some people use the pull out garbage can as is, to store snack bags that the kids take to school. Wink

I store plastic shopping bags in a pull-out can like this. I pull them out to collect counter waste (peelings, ends, gristle, etc) and diapers, so it's handy to have them there. But I do have one pull out trash can under each sink. They're not that big and fill up quickly; even with two, I need to change one of them almost daily.

The pull out is 18" the cabinet next to the sink.
I really need more storage though.
I'm wondering if I can just use as is to store baking pans and long trays vertically. Or is this wasted space.
Handyman is DH. He says I'll lose the drawer if I put in a regular door.
It's also possible that my electric hot plate fits vertically in this space and still have rooms for pans. I'd have to measure.

I use the garbage pull out drawer to store plastic containers. I don't like the garbage can under my counter and in my cabinet.

A shabbos hot water urn might fit comfortably. I turned an awkward cabinet into a "shabbos cabinet" - I keep the urn, plata, and Crock-Pot all together.

Ooh that's perfect. Hopefully it all fits.
And since I use them once a week it's easily accessible, but out of the way and not high up.
I could put small Shabbat things in the drawer like crockpot liners and tea.
