When my oldest was born we played a game as the nurses were weighing him - everyone took a guess, including me. I was the closest, off by 1 ounce. From that point on I couldn't remember which was his actual weight and which was my guess.

Of course I know! I never heard of a mother who doesn’t remember when her child was born!

Me too. And their Hebrew birthdays and their SSNs!! (Though both socials are similar and sometimes I get mixed up...)
I was in the pediatrician’s office once and watched a father tell the (non-Jewish) receptionist his kid’s Hebrew birthday, then not quite understand why that wasn’t enough for her

I hate to say this, but I have made mistakes in this. I have it written down in my purse so I can always check if needed.

No judgement please.... I have difficulty remembering my 4 kids birthdays.
I am not learning disabled and no major memory problems.😜
I simply have trouble remembering numbers. Especially when put on the spot. As a kid I actually had trouble remembering my own birthdate.
I keep a card in my pocketbook, and on my kitchen bulletin board and info in my phone.
It's a bit embarrassing cuz most ppl think it's nuts... but I think it's ok.
We all have our strengths and weaknesses.

My oldest is january 1st, so that's easy remember. The others are during the summer but I don't know the dates. I could look them up though if necessary.

My first 2, I sometimes get their hebrew dates confused. One is yud tet and one is chaf zayin and I sometimes mix them up to be yud zayin and chaf tet.
My youngest was born on lag b'omer. I always know her Hebrew date but it takes a few seconds to remember the English birthday

jerusalem90 wrote: | Foreign, I think it's an acronym for לשון עם זר - the language of a foreign nation. So you have the Loazi calendar, and loazi words (like the Hebrew word for biology is biologia, so since it clearly comes from a different language it is a loazi word even if it's in a Hebrew dictionary). |
I thought it stood for לעז - לשון עבודה זרה
But now I 'm thinking it's just a word, not an acronym
Like we say in Hallel -
בית יעקב מעם לועז
As you say, 'foreign'.
Anyway, I know my kids Hebrew dates - we celebrate the Hebrew birthdays.
The secular dates I sometimes have to take a peek in my teudat zehut. I know their secular months, but get mixed up with the dates.
eg. one of my son's Hebrew date is 26th of the month, and secular date is 24th of the month.
and my second son's Hebrew date is 24th and secular is 26th.
And the years I don't always remember.

I know all their DOB, both calendars. Only my ssn. We made Aliya when our oldest was a baby, so our TZ #s are a few digits off. My last two were weighed the first time after 12hrs, so I don’t know their birthweights.
In Israel we have identity cards with an insert, the sapach, that has the name, dob, gender and ID # of your spouse and dependents.
When doing paperwork, they just ask for the teudat zehut and sapach.
All our into is also stored on our kupa cholim cards. So for any medical treatment, the whole medical history is right there.

No! I am terrible with dates and numbers in general, and have difficulty remembering my 4 children’s birthdays!!
I know it sounds insane. So I have list in my phone and review it before I enter an drs office or meeting where it might be pertinent.
I used to say that some day educators will recognize some kind of number dyslexia, and I have it. I’m an intelligent successful woman who really struggles with numbers.

I am awful with this. If it was one set of dates it would be ok. But it is two. Some I do remember, but 2 of them I can never remember if it is the 10th or 11th of the month or 21st or 22nd. Making a note in my phone with them is a great idea!
I do remember my first social security number, from the UK, (its called something different there) but when I moved to a different country I got a new one which I have never attempted to remember.
I forget my age sometimes.

Certainly, but I used to work at a medical office in Israel and it was not uncommon for very frum patients to know only the Hebrew dates.
