Our babysitter who is a eastern european bubby wanted to put some juice from this plant into my baby daughter's nose via a droplet (she has a bad cold) she said it is very effective for treating nose stuffiness in babies and kids and moms often use it on themselves as well and it is very common where she is from
Has anyone ever used juice of this plant to treat a stuffy nose?
We are all for holistic medicine but never heard of this plant.

So in what cases is Kalanchoe used in alternative medicine? The plant can be used to treat various diseases: for the preparation of drops with a cold and nasal congestion;; in case of burns and other wounds;; with trophic ulcers;; for treatment of fistulas and bedsores;; with purulent infections;; during bleeding gums, etc.

Yes, it was widely used when I was growing up, and I’m sure it’s still used today. Many households had their own plant. Maybe mix it with water so it’s not that strong.

I did not. I was a difficult child. No one was ever successful to put any drops in my nose. I’m still the same way. But my husband did use them and he said it didn’t sting or burn.
I would use it for my child. Don’t have a plant though.
I was thinking more in terms of dosage. How old is your child?

Can you ask your nanny if it's just as effective taken internally?
I have stuffy nose and refuse to do drops in my nose.

She says it cannot be swallowed, only put inside the nose.
I am tempted to try it out on myself first.
If anyone here has, please describe the experience and spare me Smile
