Enjoying my favorite pastime....looking through the new books in the seforim stores and deciding what to buy.
Can you help an avid reader, looking for some great new books?
Have you bought or read any of the following? (These books caught my eye)

Face Value - Ahuva Parnes
The Learning Curve - Gila Arnold
Silver and Gold - forgot the author
House of Secrets - M. Jakubowicz

For kids:
F is for Friendship - Ruchama Schnaidman
A Smile is Catchy- Chaya Kramer
The Accidental Detective - Faygie Holt

Feel free to post any other great books - I'm always looking for more!

Face Value was serialized in the Voice (a lakewood weekly). I didn't love it.

The Learning Curve was serialized in the Mishpacha Family First I believe- it was good

Silver and Gold is a teen book

House of Secrets is a tween/teen book.

So Silver and Gold is more for teens, I guess.

Face Value, I now remember from The Voice - I did enjoy that serial!

Someone already made my comment but forgot this book on another thread so I'll mention it here: A great adult, mid to older teen book is The Chase by Meir Uri Gottesman, though I don't know if it's your genre.

Bump...I'm sure people have been reading over Yom tov:) I really enjoyed C.B. Weinfeld's latest collection. Which new books have you (or your children) read/enjoyed? I'd love to hear about them! ty

I bought a bunch of new books before YT but I need to find which ones I haven't read as I am laid up & need entertainment over Shabbos. (I have a huge collection of hashkafa books etc which I hope to read one day but right not only up to light fiction.)

DH will go when I give him a list..

Any other new books?

Anyone read Next Please by Efrat Singer?

Castle Builders - Menucha Levin about 4 Holocaust survivors. I try very hard not to read about Holocaust as it gives me nightmares. Anyone read it & can tell me if it's good/scary etc?

I just got next please- started reading it and it seems very good. I’m looking forward to getting really into it over shabbos. I think I recommend it. If you still need to know after shabbos, post again.

I haven't even heard of Next Please. But if Castle Builders is new for you...then there's a lot of great reading to catch up on. AFAI remember, it's not too heavy on the Holocaust.

I generally don't buy fiction but borrow it. I'm going to mention some books that I can't say you'll read and reread but they are fun, if you want to get in touch with your inner teen age boy: Yonah Sapir's Wanted and Friendly Fire (I just started the former) and Someone Goldman's Code One and Code Two. Not the same genre as Efrat Singer but not anything that'll give you nightmares. I think.

I was just browsing various publishers websites & this didn't sound familiar. For all I know, I did read it...

I loved Face Value by Ahuva Parnes and Role Call by Tzippy Kestenbaum. Promise Me Jerusalem by Chany Rosengarten is another great read.

Just reread the OP.
Silver and Gold was in the Mishpacha teen pages, author is Tzivia Reischer.
House of Secrets is a kids' book. Good book for kids.
I read Learning Curve as it was serialized, competent genre writing.

And I just mentioned Yonah Sapir's Wanted. I started to read it. It's a page turner but I'm not so into it.
