I saw this recipe, but seemed to easy to be true

Layer in a pan 8x8 for small eggplant:
Bread Crumbs
Sliced eggplant
Bread Crumbs
Sauce
cheese (low fat)
Repeat until eggplant is finished.
Finish with layer of eggplant topped with bread crumbs.
Cover tightly with foil and bake at 400 for at least an hour.
Uncover.
Pour on top tomato sauce 3 Tbsp Sugar and 2 Tbsp oil.
Bake at 425 for 15 minutes.

Is it this easy?
I don't need to bread and fry the eggplant?
Anyone tried it this way?
Does it come out as yummy?

I didn't try it but I think most recipes tell you to squeeze out juice from eggplant by layering on to paper towels.. this does sound a bit too easy... but if ur looking for a super easy way to make it which I think comes out really well if u can get the frozen ready to bake cutlets.

It's for YT.
I want it to come out yummy, my kids are coming for YT
If I have to I'll make it Friday for Sunday.
I rather have it ready from before.
My kids are coming in Thursday night and I want to enjoy the little ones on Friday.
I never tried the frozen breaded eggplant.
Will it come out the same?

Can I layer it, freeze, and bake later on?

When I'm ready to bake, do I put it in the oven frozen, or defrost first?

If frozen, how long should I bake it for?

Salt, drain, bread and fry/bake the eggplant rounds.
Then layer with sauce and cheese and freeze.
Put straight into the oven from freezer until heated through. Then uncover, sprinkle with some more cheese and bake until bubbly.
