My son has finally showed some interest in reading! He read a couple of Chaim Walder's comic books and really liked them. I would appreciate any recommendations for really good similar type books. TIA!

Hebrew or English?
In Hebrew there's Aharaleh and Comics-Saba.
Aharaleh may have been translated to English.

If you're looking for secular, the Smurf comic books by Peyo are fun to read. Most of them are very appropriate.

There are DOZENS of Jewish comic books/graphic novels out there - the Chaim Walders, Shikufitsky, M. Safra's Just Imagine and other series... it's endless.
I just want to suggest that you monitor his diet, and propose that for every x number of graphic novels he reads a real book. Also, if you do go to secular libraries, you have to realize that graphic novels there are really dangerous. There are the older, mostly safe comic strips. There is Tintin and ymmv, Asterix. But contemporary secular graphic novels are just that - graphic. Do what you can to get your son to broaden his horizons beyond comic books, if at all possible.
