One other helpful tip: we don’t describe Hashem’s emotions, but rather His actions ( think you’d gimme midot)
For kids you can explain we use the word love, for lack of a better word, but just Like our love for our children is more sophisticated than a bird for its offspring, we can’t necessarily fathom the level of ‘love’ that Hashem has for us.
