Looking for a checklist of everything that needs to be done for a Bar Mitzvah. Its my first and aside from the obvious big things like caterer and photo, I feel like il gonna forget something. Money is tight, so it wont be over the top. But I can pick and choose our prioroties from a list if anyone has one.

This is my list from the party. We did not do a big Shabbat thing.
Invitations
Hall
Caterer/party planner
Bakery (I had a separate fancy cake aside from the desserts provided by the caterer)
DJ
Photographer
Magnet person
Shtick for dancing
Placecards (hall did not provide them)
Bentchers
Clothing for everyone
Make wig appointment for yourself and hair appointments for daughters
Make up (if you want professionally done)
If you’re doing a slide show, start collecting the pictures and decide if you’re doing it yourself or if you need to hire someone to do it

This!
I find people get so carried away by the celebration and forget the importance of the day.
If money is tight, do what you can afford. Good pair of tefillin, meal for immediate family. Desserts for friends. Suit, hat and accessories for bar mitzvah boy. Clothing for parents and sibs. Take good pics. The rest is extra. No one cares or remembers three days later. What your son will remember is how special you made him feel about the importance of this day.
