We're going to Israel with kids of several ages including a baby soon. We haven't done this in many years. I would love any and all tips you have - what to bring vs. what to buy there; family friendly touring ideas; how to navigate the airport, etc. Anything you would do now based on a previous experience, lesson learned, etc.
Thank you!

I don't know how long it's been since you were here, but the airport is very easy to navigate. A lot of walking, but very clear signage.
The zoo is nice, but probably in the afternoon when it's cooler.
Up north is Gan Garoo-- highly recommended and right next to Sachne park which is beautiful.
The bullet factory in Rechovot has English tours and is fascinating for any child over 8. (Machon Ayalon)
What's nice about Israel is that babies are welcomed everywhere-- musesums, tours, etc. So even if baby won't understand you don't have to worry about leaving someone outside with her.
Except the Coca Cola factory tour. No kids under 9

A baby carrier is great for some attractions and for hikes. Other than that, a decent stroller.

Also useful for the Old City, where there are bumpy cobblestones and many steps.

Thank you! And thanks for the bump - was surprised no one was responding to this thread. Please keep them coming!
What about the cave tours, specifically with water involved. I presume those are not doable with babies?

Ir Dovid requires your baby in a carrier I remember taking our 14 month old in a carrier there.
If you can’t take a stroller, they often have a guarded place to leave them. This is a very child friendly country.

In terms of the airport, bring a ride on collapsible toy for your 2 yr old here in Israel called a bimba juk - looks like a spider and the legs fold. you can take it on the airplane in the overhead, it is very light and invaluable for the long airport walking and even in Israel when walking. We tied a light rope and the older ones were happy to pull him when he got tired.
Story tapes on earphones are a life saver.

Tips whilst you are here: Israel is very child friendly. If eg you need to nurse most stores will let you use their changing rooms if not very busy at the time. Note that if you use a baby carrier the baby (and you!) can get very hot.

I would suggest bringing a napsac for each kid so they can carry what they need themselves. Carrying water for the whole family on a tiyul is hard!

Diapers, wipes etc you can get most brands here. Pharmaceuticals are expensive especially if you dont have kupat cholim so bring any meds. favorite toothpaste bring with. you also may not find breakfast cereals that your kids like.

are you intending to use buses?

Probably at least some of the time. IIRC parking is quite difficult in much of Yerushalayim. When we travel further we might rent a car.

Toiletries are expensive if you buy from pharmacies. They are much more affordable in grocery stores. We get them at Shaul Tamrukim.

This is the Bimba Juke:
https://www.amazon.com/Medog-T.....lebug

It's much cheaper in Israel - about 50-60 shek

There are so many great parks in Yerushalayim:

Gan Hapaamon
Gan Haatzmaut on Keren Hayesod
Teddy Park - they have sprinklers at 2, 4 and 6 - our favorite!

Plus every neighborhood has playgrounds and parks.
Where will you be staying?

We also like the gymborees at the Old train station - across from Gan Hapaamon and in the Ramot mall. You have to pay for them.
During bein hazmanim, the Rav Shefa mall has rides and a little petting zoo.
