Icing is a glaze and very easily soy free. Just use Domino's confectioners sugar and water, milk or almond/coconut milk and other flavorings/colors.

Thanks. It called for vegan butter. Is margarine soy free? I don't think so

You can use Spectrum shortening. It's made out of palm oil.

I order it online. It's organic and relatively healthier than Crisco so if your regular store doesn't have it maybe try a health food store?

This is great to know! Earth balance also makes a soy free margarine substitute.
Is spectrum shortening unsalted? Because that was the main problem I found with the margarine substitutes in regards to frosting-when you make frosting you're supposed to use unsalted margarine but I haven't found that in any soy free version.

I just had a brainstorm. I have a kosher lpesach whip in my freezer. It's soy free. Can I make icing with it?

What flavor? I like overtimecook.com's glazes and frostings. Just add extra sugar to thicken a glaze into a frosting.

Any flavor. It's for kids so vanilla would work
