I have half a loaf of stale challah I'd like to repurpose. My mom makes a really yummy bread stuffing, but it has a million ingredients that need to be sautéed and soaked and I need something simple. Any ideas?

I freeze it and when I get enough half loaves I defrost, slice and make French toast.
You can make delicious onion garlic croutons for a salad at your Shabbos Seuda
Or process it in a food processor and season to make seasoned breadcrumbs for breaded chicken cutlets

I used older challah for french toast, croutons and breadcrumbs - cut into cubes and put in oven on 400 for abt 15 min. then either process it in food processor or smash yourself. spice it up and use as breadcrumbs on cutlets. fry it and its heaven!

I’m not sure what it’s called, but I’ve seen it at the bakery.
They take leftover bread, soak, and then mash it flat on a cookie sheet. Then they take a lot of spices and sprinkle it all around and bake it.
It becomes a little crispy.

My mother made this all the time, the spicier the better. It's called boya. She made a new version, with cinnamon and sugar and she called it goya . And there's also challah kugel.

I take the left over challah use only the insidea. Get it really wet with water and squeeze it out. I add eggs. For a total of one loaf I use abt 6-8 eggs. If I want dairy I add a little milk if not I add a little water. Sugar and salt. Fry.
