I scheduled an appointment with an orthodontist who is supposed to know how to work with United health. Only problem is the appointment is not until NEXT APRIL!!!!!! Is it worth waiting or should I just look for someone else? DS’s teeth are really crooked, affecting his bite and appearance. Wish we could get started already but of course don’t want to pay if I don’t have to!

My kids all got covered. Try a dentist with a shorter waiting list.

Lucky you.....
Do you know if the dentist made it a medical necessity? Or did they just have regular crooked teeth?

Most ppl I know couldn’t get covered under uhc. Bh my son is covered, just starting
With braces now. He does have something medical with it so we got lucky. If you’re referring to Krug he always has a very long wait for initial consult, but he’s officially really good and the kids love going There.

What kind of medical conditions make braces a necessity?

I was told that if there are impacted teeth (only certain front ones) then UHC will cover it.

I believe my son has an issue that certain teeth are blocking others from coming in.

Who is their dentist? What was the diagnosis that allowed them to have it covered?

How Long ago was this? They have been rejecting people. If there is severe overcrowding, you may have a shot, but if it's a space issue, then good luck with that one.
