My husband and I plan to name our son Pinchas after a beloved relative. Unfortunately neither of us particularly like the name. We are looking for suggestions for nicknames or variations of the name that we might be able to use (ideally without the "ch" sound and not Pinny). Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

OP, how about giving a name that you both really like and as a middle name Pinchas, would that work for you?
Till this day I've only heard Pinny as a nickname of Pinchas.

Maybe you can find another way to name for your relative?
After my grandma passed away, I was expecting a girl. It was obvious to me that I would name her after my grandma, because we had a very special bond, but Grandma had a very hard life, and she was also a somewhat difficult personality -I've never gotten along with anyone who shared her name.
So we named our daughter a name which recalled the essence of my Grandma - she dedicated her life toward helping Eretz Yisrael flourish, and she loved Hashem. It's a fitting memorial for her, without any of the pain of a name that doesn't fit.

I just remember the name Pinchy from the puppet shows we used to watch in day camp when I was little, by the Small Wonder Puppet Theatre.

Pinya?
There must be nicknames, I could check in the Beider dicctionary.
I'd give a variation before a concept or initial belonging to a person but I'm not American (at all).

I've heard people using Pinch, pronounced the same as the word that means what your kids do to each other when you turn around.

Pinny and Pinn are very common. My fave is Phin, from Phineas, the English version.

According to the midrash, Eliyahu Hanavi was Pinchas.
So call him Eliyahu.
