no bites! just saw 4-5 bugs on husbands bed and we killed them. my closet is adjacent to his bed.
so far I put everything from his bed in the dryer on highest heat
can I just cover his mattress pillow and box spring? should I also cover mine? (across the room)
I am almost due with a baby so don't want to spray or fumigate and heat treatment is wayy too expensive. we have a clothing steamer--does that do anything? it's not that hot though...
pls save me money but most importantly my sanity. I can't sleep at night worrying about this problem. need my energy for the birth.

My ex and I had bed bugs in our first apartment. It was a nightmare. Sprays don’t work. Same like with roaches. It may kill ones that are out and you can see, but it doesn’t kill all that are hiding in places you can’t see. Definitely put things in the dryer. My ex and I bought a lot of space bags and after putting clothes through the dryer a couple times, we put the clothes in the space bags and did so for linens and things like that. Mattress covers, absolutely.

Some people don't have a reaction to bites, so you get bit but don't know it.
Are you sure they are bed bugs what you saw?
There is this powder you can buy really cheaply, called something like diatamaceous earth (sp?) that will kill them, but you have to put the powder every where they live. How it kills them is that when they crawl through it it gets into their body and dries it up. It only does that to insects though, and is completely safe for humans, cats and dogs.
You don't have to hire professionals $$$ to get rid of them, you can do it yourself. It takes a lot of effort either way, because even if you hire professionals they make you box everything up. You need to put down the powder and do daily checks, catching and killing the ones you find. Keep sleeping in the same room because if you switch rooms, the bedbugs will just invade the new room. They hunt you down by your Carbon Dioxide.
