My baby, 1 year old, only likes to nurse and drink water. He nurses about 3-4 times a day, for about 3-5 minutes a time. He drinks some water in between, and has a small amount of solid food three times a day. He's not interested in eating any more than he does, or drinking milk, but he hasn't gained weight in 4 months!
Any tips for me to get him to eat more or to drink milk?

Don't overdo the milk. Kids who drink too much milk tend to be iron deficient, as well as malnourished in general. But to get him to drink a small amount: have you tried making chocolate milk with cocoa powder and a tiny bit of sweetener? Or make smoothies with milk and frozen fruit.

Why milk? Give him solids a few more times a day. Some children like to eat small portions frequently. Also, in my experience, some kids at this age are so active that they seem to use up all their calories. Give him food that you know he likes more often.

Also wanted to add, is there a particular concern with his weight? Babies this age tend to be very active and don't necessarily gain weight even as they grow taller and develop well in general. It may be temporary.

I put a tiny drop of coco powder into the milk to give it a bit of color & the kids are happy to drink "chocolate milk".
But if he's nursing, try to have him eat different food for weight gain instead of drinking more milk.

If your baby is active and healthy, there's nothing to worry about.

Also milk is really not the be all end all of nutrition.

Give him more solids.
Offer it, have it easily available.
Avocado are a great choice.
You can make it sweet or salty.

If he likes Cheerios put in a bowl with a drop of milk. Just to make the cherrios a little soggy kids never liked milk in a bottle buy they ate it in Cheerios and next they drank a cup of milk each morning

If you can pump, mix a small cup of your breastmilk with a few drops of regular milk. Increase the amount of regular milk in the mixture every few days until he is drinking only milk.

Try different kinds of foods to help with the solids - different textures, different tastes, etc.
