My married niece moved into my house for 2 days, to take care of my 5 little kids. Wana pay her $100 per day. Is it enough? She left to work till 3:30 and dropped off 12 mo at the babysitter.
What do you think?

Does she know you plan on paying her?

If she is doing it for money you need to ask her how much she charges.
If she planned on doing it as a favor than any gift is nice.

She did ask me what the deal is. Told her I’ll pay you about 200. Wonder if it’s a normal amount. Or too little. Because when I moved into my sister for a week she paid me 1000. And I cooked dinner. My niece had food ready.

There is no normal. You said about 200. Give her 250 - that will make you look very nice. If your gut is telling your that 200 or 250 is the wrong number - give her more.

Market rate would be what - $15-$20 per hour for time reserved in her calendar for you? But for family - we charge less, no?

In my days we helped our aunts out and would be embarrassed to take a dollar.

I'd offer a gift.

That's $12.50 an hr to watch 5 kids. I would aim for closer to $15.
The best thing is to ask her how much she expects. Being upfront saves from awkwardness afterwards.

If you can afford it, give generously. Five kids is work. More work than an office job.
If you're tight w money I'd say differently.

And she'll be there through the night too. No?

$100 a day is nothing for a couple moving in! If you send one child to an overnight babysitter it's $100. I would give least $500 for 2 days.

That is not so much . As a not relative I would never take a job for so little but for a little doing a favor it's probably good enough.

My 15 year old earned $80 in a day of babysitting. She only charged $10/hour, and she for sure undercharged them.

I think $250 is nice. If you feel it’s not enough add a little gift to it.
