Are the clothing high quality clothing- may be that makes them last longer? |

Sounds like you've gotten plenty of perspectives here, but I throw mine in for fun.
Family of 6, bli ayin hara.
Kids twice a week
Everything else once a week.
I usually fold it the next day
I only have two laundry baskets, so I know that if they're both full, I need to fold and put away so I'll have the basket available...

One thing not mentioned is to use shout color catchers. You can reuse until they get colored but I like it for those mixed loads. I split by white that gets bleached/colored/ hung dry. I am still overwhelmed by laundry though as I do laundry (at least one load) almost every day! Towels, rags, kids clothing... All get dirty often (I reuse towels but someone inevitably didn't hang theirs up so its musty or it's sweaty/actually dirty).
I also don't have a large washer and who has room for 3 machines? Or a super-sized one? I am lucky I have one!
