Not to rain on your parade but I don’t go to bed till the flames are out. Fire is a threat, I don’t like to leave it unattended, and I wouldn’t be pleased to see my Shabbos licht still burning in the morning. But If it makes you feel blessed, enjoy! You might want to think about putting your leichter in a pan of water just in case if this is happening often.

Use much less oil to ensure that the flame goes out before you head to bed.

Oh, OP uses oil, not candles? So where’s the mystery? She used too much oil. Duh.

Evidently you never used that much oil before. Though if you used thinner wicks than usual the flame would be smaller and the oil would also last longer. Either use thicker wicks or measure the volume of oil you pour into each cup.
