Just got my smartphone fixed after ages. How do I keep my kids (and myself around the kids) off of it?

They like the camera feature. Cant rly afford buying them a camera. When they are around the phone they are transfixed with it and cant resist touching it. It makes me uneasy. Ive lost my flipphone a million times when they touched it too.

They can access some features even when its locked by passcode. :-/

The main thing is to keep yourself off of it. If they see you on it all the time, of course they will want to touch/play with it as well. Put it high up so you can hear it if it rings, but is still out of the kids' reach.

See if a neighbor has an old phone with a camera you can give the kids to play with if that's the mean feature they want.

Put it away. Treat it like a landline. Keep it in one room in one spot, out of sight out of mind. Check messages once an hour (or less).

The phone should always be locked & only be able to access with a passcode or fingerprint. Make a firm rule that the kids may not touch your phone.
Put away your phone when the kids come home.

You posted under children's health. I understand why. Note however that it impacts our health as adults too!

If I were you I would do the math a cell phone costs between a hundred and $900
a camera you can find one between 50 and $90 just buy one or two cameras at DB Electronics or Amazon and then you're good and they don't need those types of games. There is nothing wrong with using board games.
