Looking to go on vacation from a Thursday night/Friday am to Sunday night.
We would like to be able to do something Friday then stay over shabbos (we would bring food so need hotel that has fridge/can use crockpot) then do something sunday
Preferably within 3-4 hours from Brooklyn
With kids ages 8-12

Newport is very boring for kids.
Jimminy Peak
Poconos
Lancaster/Philadelphia
Lake George
Lots to do at these places.

Tannersville/Hunter would work perfectly -  hours away, minyan, beautiful nature, and great activities for kids. Other options would be Lancaster, Baltimore, Boston, Cherry Hill/Philly, and Scranton.
