what company computer is it? is it a laptop?
most laptops have a way to restore to factory setting.
check in your owners manual or if you dont have your manual you can look it up on the company website.

do you have the cd that came with the computer? Insert that before starting up the computer, and it will prompt you to restore to factory settings.

I don't know if it works for all computers; the lawyer I work with claimed he couldn't get "everything" from his old clients off of his, and insisted on destroying it rather than giving it away.

This is how you restore a computer. I have done it several times... especially with vista.
You're best off calling your computer's manufacturer. The phone number is on the bottom of your laptop. You are still under the warranty, and they will guide you step by step.

first of all, that is your most surefire way. they'll give you instructions. secondly, you can definhitely try by putting in the system restore cd in the computer and following instructions.

I'm having my ThinkPad reformatted as I speak.
Simple Googling should tell you all you need to know.

When I had an HP computer and had a problem of some kind, they sent me some Quick Restore discs to help, but I was warned that they completely clean out the computer. Maybe you know somebody who has them or something like them?
I can't explain to you what they are, as I understand next-to-nothing about computers in general.
