I know this is a strange question to ask here,
But maybe someone here knows where to find the answer.

I live in South Florida, and we are invaded by iguanas, all types, all sizes. They poop everywhere, it’s disgusting.

I live on the 2nd floor in a condo.
I dont know if the iguanas can get to my balcony

I want to grow some fresh herbs in planters.

Do you think it will attract the iguanas?

I want to grow mint, basil, rosemary, etc.

Iguanas can and will eat all sorts of herbs. They're herbivores. Why not plant them on windowsills inside your home?

I have no windowsills only sliding doors.
Didn’t want to block entrance/exit to the balcony

Like I said, Google will give you lots of ideas for small spaces.

I was going to suggest the same thing. If you have any wall space you can mount small shelving for plants. I did that in my kitchen. I put a small shelf under one of my windows and I have a small shelf of plants there now.

How about a planter against the stationary half of the siding door? Perhaps you can anchor it above the door.

Basically, if it’s outside everyone thinks it will attract iguanas, even on the 2nd/3rd floor.

Why don't you ask your neighbors?

Every time I see this title, I think you're looking for advice on growing herbs AND iguanas! LOL

Iguanas are amazing climbers, and can get a toe hold in the most unlikely places. This reminds me of when I tried gardening, and my garden was overrun with raccoons. Some critters can be very pesky and persistent, and there's not much you can do about it.

I live in SoFla too. I’ve definitely seen iguanas climb high in trees so I’m not sure that the 2nd floor would be safe. Maybe it’s worth a shot though, If you won’t be too disappointed about one coming for a bite. I know how I felt when my tomatoes were eaten Angry
