Maybe you can use the time to help her develop skills- so important for gifted children who tend to become lopsided in their development
Physical skills- swimming , biking.....Creative and social skills as mentioned above.
Wish I had known this years ago. Could have prevented serious issues (maybe)

Take her to the park, and let her make new friends. She needs to be outside, running and jumping and playing around. Any kind of sensory input is good, but it's even better if there are other kids around.

I have a super smart kiddo who gets bored easily. She has few friends, and spends almost all of her time in her room drawing. Believe me, you don't want that!

BTW, you are not obligated to be your child's entertainment center. If you kid is so smart, ask her to come up with some solutions. I'll bet if she gets bored enough she'll think of some really good ones.

Library books! Go to the library and check out a stack of books on various topics.

My 10 year old loves to read. Every other week or so we go to the library and my kid checks out 15-20 new books. At my local library it’s easy to reserve books from other libraries and just pick them up. My kid gets books on all sorts of topics. Right now he’s into comic style books. But he gets fiction, history, science books... etc
