We will be spending our anniversary in NY this week and we don't know what to do. We don't really want to just to out to dinner. DH really wants to hear live music but I don't feel comfortable in a bar or club. I heated some Starbucks have live music or another coffee house would be fine. We are also open to other ideas anyone might have.

For like 20 bucks you can go to an open rehearsal at the NY Philharmonic. Breathtaking.

I second the philharmonic open rehearsal. In addition to being less expensive than a concert they are in a certain sense even nice as the audience is smaller and it feels more intimate.

Just bumped into this. I’d like information where I can go to this philharmonic rehearsal? I’d like to know location and timings.
My anniversary is tom and would be perfect place to go for us.

It's on the NY Philharmonic website. Open rehearsals. But I am not sure they did it in the summer. Good luck.
