I recently moved to NJ and was planning on staying on my NY Medicaid insurance until it expires in a few months (bc in the meantime it covers a very expensive medication), going in to the city to see my doctors.

However I may be pregnant and it would make more sense to use local obgyn and hospital. Has anyone transferred or applied, did you get same coverage or benefits or what was process like?

You can't have both. If you're keeping NY Medicaid while you live in NJ (which is fraud btw, but not what you're asking) you have to see a NY ob gyn.

I still have my NY lease until it ends, and my license is there, so I technically now have two residences, which is legal. Also not what I'm asking

do you mean a car lease and NY driver's license? That still doesn't make it legal. You are technically required to "If you have recently moved to New Jersey, you must transfer your out-of-state license and vehicle title/registration within 60 days of your move, or before your current license and vehicle registration expires, whichever occurs first.
https://www.state.nj.us/mvc/dr.....j.htm

Also you are required to close out your NY Medicaid prior to applying for NJ Medicaid. You should probably call the LLRC for more info how to proceed

I actually meant my apartment lease, so I am still residing there.
