I am having a hard time figuring out how to keep my sons peyos behind his ears. When he was three I would sometimes just make it neat and in one curl in front of his ear (looking chassidish although we aren't. ) I'd love to figure out a way to keep it neat behind his ears. I'd like suggestions from mothers with experience. Gels to use? Mousse? What length to cut? (Length of the back, bottom of the ear when it's pulled straight? Or bounced up again?)

I put the peyos behind the ear when I'm cutting. I just cut until nothing is sticking out by the ear lobe.
Regular dippity doo type of gel works. I found that if you wet the peyos with water and comb them behind the ear they usually stay. But if that doesn't work the gel helps keep it in place.
