Is it ok to have coffee today, or will it negatively effect my fast?

I was told that in order for caffeine not effecting your fast you have to stop drinking coffee a few weeks before.
I tried not drinking a day or two before the fast and I got a huge headache over the fast.
Now I do drink coffee the day before. Sometimes I get a headache in the afternoon but not always.
I will try to buy the slow release ibuprofen today. I used that once and did not get a headache in the afternoon.

Do you drink it everyday? Will you have withdrawal today (and tomorrow) from not having your caffeine now?
I know some people who taper off their coffee a few days before a fast but today is probably too late.
Some others I know drink coffee right before the fast starts. They say it's better to have a little trouble falling asleep than deal with withdrawal during YK. For me that wouldn't be good.
Others use a caffeine suppository on YK to avoid withdrawal.

When I don't cut down on coffee little by little before a fast, skipping my 2 cups today would likely mean a headache tomorrow.
But if you swallow pills while fasting there's a workaround: Buy some caffeine pills. Then drink your usual amount of coffee today and take half a caffeine tablet tomorrow at the time(s) you would normally drink the coffee.
Otherwise, drink a cup of coffee before the fast begins.

I switch to decaf before the fast. still get a little caffeine hit but less withdrawal on YK!
