coming sunday afternoon bas mitzvah party.
what do I wear? kids? nicer weekday? regular weekday?

My sisters daughter just had a Bas Mitzvah but it was like a Bar Mitzvah , so we all wore Better Shabbos clothes. My sister and her girls were wearing gowns.
It has to do with they type of party they are having. If it's a casual birthday party type of affair than better weekday clothes would be suitable.

I'd say regular Shabbos clothes. I would put the kids in Shabbos clothes too, but go with something on the comfy side to accommodate activities and or dancing.

Bumping-
Everyone still agree that we should wear shabbos clothing to a sun afternoon bas mitzvah in Brooklyn? I think the bas mitzvah girl will be wearing a gown.

Im a Bas Mitzvah dance teacher and party motivator. For the events where the Bas Mitzvah girl wears a gown, simple shabbos gear is worn by friends, and better shabbos by family.
If she wears a regular shabbos outfit, you do that too, but keep it simple ans understated.

My daughter is in bm season. They do nicer weekday. Heck some day weekday. Except the bm girl. The non related parents generally don't stay and look nicer weekday I'd say.
